TU-FAB

Europe must be able to build its own computing future.

Advanced computing is becoming critical infrastructure. Yet Europe depends heavily on others for the processors, memory, and computing systems that increasingly shape its economy, research, and security.

Technological sovereignty cannot come from regulation, market size, or industrial promises alone. It has to be built.

Europe already provides indispensable expertise and equipment to the global semiconductor industry. We believe that strength should extend to designing and producing the computing systems themselves.

This is why TU-FAB exists.

TU-FAB is a student-led technical initiative working toward a Europe that can develop its own advanced computing technology: GPUs, AI accelerators, memory systems, and the software and tools that make them useful.

Our ambition spans the entire stack, from architecture and digital design to verification, compilers, hardware prototypes, and ultimately fabricated silicon. We see research and engineering as parts of the same work.

Our first project will be announced soon. It will mark the beginning of our work to turn this ambition into real engineering.

Our long-term goal is to help connect Europe's researchers, engineers, and industry around the expertise and capacity to create globally competitive computing systems. Partnerships and fabrication will be earned through technical work, not assumed in advance.

TU-FAB is at its beginning. We have a direction and work to do.

Europe has the knowledge. The next step is to build.
